2006 Fundraiser is a Success

Partnership's 6th annual membership drive, the Drugs Bug Me Legacy Luncheon  was held Friday, June 16 at the Historic Huntsville Depot Roundhouse. The successful event raised more than $14,000 for Partnership for a Drug-Free Community and introduced Partnership to new friends and supporters.

Hundreds of youth and adults enjoyed Coca-Cola soft drinks, Chick-fil-A strips, Mr. BBQ lunch plates, cotton candy, popcorn, Purity ice cream and lemonade, all while be immersed with the drug-free theme.

Plenty of kids arrived to tackle the inflatable moon bounce and ride the super slide. Additional activities and games included cookie decorating and face painting as well as a ring toss, bean bag toss, sponge relay and cupcake walk. Prizes were awarded to winners as "Drugs Bug Me" cheers rang out.

Clowns strolled the park and entertained attendees. Parents and city and county officials joined in the fun. Drug education information describing the Partnership's services and pamphlets outlining the dangers associated with substance abuse were distributed. Balloons, stickers and goodie bags sporting the "Drugs Bug Me" message  were given away to all.

More than 70 volunteers were on hand to help with the event. Partnership appreciates the support and commitment demonstrated by its sponsors and volunteers.
